Information Is Not Enough

Over the years, and especially when I worked at a Christian bookstore, it was easy to be jaded by information about Jesus that people promised would lead to transformation. Authors talked too much (and I’m know I’m guilty of this at times, too), but regardless of that fact, I think if we want to see real change in the world, real transformation, we must begin to spur people to imitate the change they wish to see, and not merely the information about change. As a bonus, then, the greatest benefit of imitating and setting the example is that it combines both transformation and information at the same time, balancing out the two concepts that, if left by themselves, would lead to destruction.

Enough of my thoughts, though. I was inspired by this video earlier today which led to the above thoughts, and it’s worth the watch:
