He who began a good work

“God never gives us a mission without granting us the power to do it. And through the mission, he also promises to change us—to make us more like his Son.” – Gary Haugen, President and CEO of International Justice Mission

In this information age, it’s difficult to discover insightful words (apart from the Bible, of course). There are numerous messages out there telling me, “this is the best content,” and then most of them end up being elaborate click-bait, like bubble gum that tastes good at first, yet its flavor soon vanishes and leaves me hungry for more.

However, when I find something solid, something more like meat, it brings me great joy. The quote above, for example, brings me great joy.

As a Christian on a mission to love and serve people . . . it can be really hard to love and serve people. But if God gives me this mission, I know he is faithful to carry it through.

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6
